[ I. orientalis ]
Diagnoses of genera of South East Asia:Genus: Idastrandia (?;
5.2). The single male of /. orientalis (sub Pseudamycus,) was
described by Szombathy in 1915. It has still not been attached to any of the
current salticid groups. Besides the drawings given by the author, the male
palp and the unusual serrate cheliceral tooth has been drawn by Proszynski,
1983. Distribution: Idastrandia is known only from Singapore.
General remarks: Most of these genera are known only from south east
Asia. Although there are still no habitat details, genitalia and occasionally
other drawings are now available for many of them. In the original descriptions
and in Simon's salticid classification, mention is sometimes made of close
and more familiar relatives. The latter will be discussed in more detail in
due course. Murphy & Murphy 2000: 271. By
