Introduction
HABRONATTINES contains single North and Central American genus Habronattus, having some 94 species with rather uniform palps and epigyne, identified mainly by color pattern (Griswold 1987). They are separated from PELLENINAE by having prominent tegular apophysis, long and parallel to embolus. Epigyne
with prominent median sclerotized pocket, usually anterior, elongate and narrow, followed by a groove running up to posterior edge of epigynal plate. Spermathecae in a form of spirals, or compact bodies stretching laterally along epigyne, pictured mainly as translucent through tegument, cleared epigyne was drawn only for two species.

Type species Habronattus mexicanus.
DIAGNOSIS Characterized by unique palp with two similar processes: embolus and tegular[?] apophysis, bulbus flat, often broad. Epigyne unique,
diversified. Drawings below are integral part of definition.
REMAKS. Griswold 1987 divides this genus into 12 informal group of species of unclear genital characters. I consider "coecatus-group of species" an equivalent of
a nominal subgenus because it contains type species of the genus - Habronattus
mexicanus (Peckham, Peckham, 1896).
