Introduction

SIMAETHINES are relatively uniform looking spiders, with carapace trapezium shaped, flattened dorsally and with abrupt posterior wall. Palps uniform, having oval bulbus with prominent spermophor encircling it. Embolus short, elongate triangular, arising from bulbus antero-laterally. Spermathecae simple spherical chamber or two chambers, copulatory ducts short. Differs from Rhene by genital organs. Drawings below are integral part of definition.

Gen. Irura Peckham, Peckham, 1901 (11 species)

Type species Irura pulchra.
REMARKS. Peng & Xie, 1994a: 27 synonymized Kinhia with Irura and transferred all species accordingly. However, Irura has different spermathecae (see I. mandarina), while Kinhia has striking, long spur extending from posterior cymbium over tibia. As spermathecae in these spiders are poorly documented, and males of type species of Irura is not known, the matter of synonymy should be checked again when more data will become available.
