Introduction to alternative classification of Salticidae
Gen. Lechia Zabka, 1985 (2 species) Type species Lechia squamata .
Something very wrong: female identified by Logunov, Jaeger 2015 is apparently Lechia, but there are no reason to transfer it to Laufeia, (epigyne is different, its internal structure was not studied by any researcher to preserve type speciemen, the only female specimen known!), there are no premises to match it with male, which differs from Laufeia aenea by significant details of palp. J. Prószyński. Dr. D.V. Logunov offered following comments about genus Lechia (personal letter,2015-12-20): "Lechia minuta is not a published combination and it is presented in your database without any justification or explanation to be referrred to as your personal opinion. I reckon this is one of the reasons why the WSC does not refer to it. For the time being, this taxon is better to retain as Euophrys minuta (the original combination), until the male is found and decribed." |
