Note on illustrations. This introduction to classification
of Salticidae includes only species defined by diagnostic illustrations in
the taxonomic literature, arranged by similarities of embolus and spermophor.
Images are displayed as thumbnails to save space and allow for rapid scanning
of theoretically closely-related species. Thumbnails are small versions
of illustrations in other parts of the monograph, whera are displayed
together with particulars of their sources and permissions.
Gen. Erasinus Simon, 1899 (2 species)
Type species Erasinus flagellifer [species dubious].
DIAGNOSIS. Palp, known for single species only, resembles Epeus, with posterior part of cymbium broad, having posterior retrolateral angle drawn into thin, sclerotized hook, touching tip of tibial apophysis. The anterior part of cymbium distinctly narrower. Bulbus oval, set transversally, embolus hair thin, parallel to side of bulbus, with anterior, free part as long as bulbus. Profile of carapace has entire thoracal part sloping down, is known for another species only. Diagnostic drawings below are integral part of definition.
