Version December 31st, 2015 Note on illustrations. This introduction to classification of Salticidae includes only species with diagnostic illustrations in the taxonomic literature, arranged by similarities of embolus and spermophor. Images are displayed as thumbnails to save space and allow for rapid scanning of theoretically closely related species. Thumbnails are small versions of illustrations in other parts of the monograph, whera are displayed together with particulars of their sources and permissions.

Gen. Megafreya Edwards, 2015 (1 species)

Type species Megafreya sutrix.
NOTE. Similarities of Leptofreya with genus Megafreya deserves some consideration. The differences in palp between these genera is, in my opinion, modification of parts, while similarity in structure of epigyne is striking (unfortunately photos of these are poor). An interesting feature is analogy of epigyne with Pacific genus Xenocytaea, however these genera have very different structure of palps, excluding possibility of closer affinity.
